Stars

It was a clear sky, cloudless, and there was no moon. I was notified earlier to witness a celestial event.

Perseids.

Then, I was on a field, adequately far away from the annoying city lights. The sky is dark enough to finally register the not-so-often seen milky way - a broken band of faint silver poured on the backdrop of darkness.

It wasn't really that dark though.

Then we were lying on the concrete patch and moist grass looking into the heavens.

Streaks of light then glided through in perfect lines across the field of stars. I finally saw what I want after years of pursuit hoping to bump into a decent weather.

I thank you, and all goodness from above.
